Today, let’s get to know “Tibet” while traveling in China! It is no longer difficult to travel to Tibet.

You can take a flight directly to Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA), or choose to take the Roof of the World Railway.

Embrace… the Himalayas

Adventure on the Roof of the World

This land is full of faith, culture, lifestyle

and the soul of nature.

This land is located high in the sky,

so it is known as the “Roof of the World”.

“Tibet, the roof of the world”

“A city surrounded by the Himalayas”

This is a place that many people dream of seeing with their own eyes, at least once.

A trip to Tibet is a journey full of happiness and emotion, being able to be in this land called the “Roof of the World” and feel its charm.

The natural landscape here is unique, and the architecture, people and culture are full of soul and deep belief in something, which are perfectly displayed.

The Potala Palace is located on the Red Mountain and is amazing! It covers an area of more than 360,000 square meters and has more than 1,000 rooms! This palace was once the residence of the secular and spiritual leader of Tibet, the “Dalai Lama”. (How deep does faith have to be for a monk to become a ruler?)

There are many temples throughout Tibet, where monks (lamas) and nuns still live. We can see believers doing the “Eight Limbs Worship”, which is the highest form of worship, where eight parts of the body touch the ground (almost lying on the ground). Some people even do this every time they take a step.

The Himalayas are covered with snow all year round, majestic and towering into the clouds, sometimes even above the clouds. Especially standing in front of “Everest”, the scenery is amazing and unforgettable, shining with stars at night and welcoming the sun in the morning.

The sacred lake is vast and the water is a beautiful turquoise color.

As for the representative animals of Tibet, such as yaks and Tibetan hounds, they are so cute that you can’t help but want to pinch them.

The scenery along the Roof of the World Railway includes snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and lakes, which are magnificent and story-telling. The beds on the train are comfortable, but sometimes you don’t know what to do with your free time.

Most of the food is Chinese cuisine, which is exquisite and tastes good. Many dishes use yak meat (a bit pitiful, in addition to drinking its milk and using its wool to make carpets and clothes, it has to be eaten).

All of the above are actually not as difficult to reach as you think. Now that the roads to many villages have improved, you don’t necessarily need to hike to Tibet.

All of this is “the embrace of the Himalayas, the breath of the mountains, the roof of the world, the land of faith.”
